I woke up this morning and was greeted by a couple scrawny dogs peering in my window... Behind them, a rooster crowed and chickens busied themselves with pecking at mosquitoes. The sun peeked over the coconut palms and spilled onto the temple right behind our hotel. Meanwhile, an elderly lady prepared some food for the idols and some young boys stretched and yawned from their mats on the temple's patio. Breakfast was eaten outside where we had delicious noodles, rice, and finger bananas which I thoroughly enjoyed while swatting mosquitoes. Yes, this is Malaysia and I can hardly believe we're actually here! Thanks for all your prayers!
